Some of the properties include the height at which you want the sharp line to be, the distance to offset the corner from the face it originated, how wide the line should be, the fall-off distance, whether the corner is soft or hard, and a lot more. To be honest, there are so many settings and adjustments that it becomes somewhat overwhelming. You can actually adjust the values on a per face basis, and you can also set it to include a whole range of faces at once, so it is totally customizable to how you want it.
