Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

kibana-chord

(WIP) A Chord Diagram Kibana plugin. Designed to work with

  • ElasticSearch version 2.2
  • Kibana version 4.4

Installation

To install this plugin to your Kibana instance, you can use the following commands:

git clone https://github.com/datavis-tech/kibana-chord.git
cd kibana-chord
npm install
npm run build
cd ..
zip -r kibana-chord.zip kibana-chord -x "*.git*" "*node_modules*"
/opt/kibana/bin/kibana plugin --install kibana-chord -u file://`pwd`/kibana-chord.zip

To update to a newer version of this plugin:

cd kibana-chord
git pull
npm install
npm run build
cd ..
zip -r kibana-chord.zip kibana-chord -x "*.git*" "*node_modules*"
/opt/kibana/bin/kibana plugin --remove kibana-chord
/opt/kibana/bin/kibana plugin --install kibana-chord -u file://`pwd`/kibana-chord.zip

Usage

Note Currently, this is only a skeleton of a plugin that shows a configurable query.

Once installed, you should see an option to open this plugin that looks like this.

Once you open the plugin, you can change the query configuration to specify:

  • Chord Weight
  • Chord Source
  • Chord Destination

Currently, the plugin only provides a basic (incomplete) Chord Diagram that looks like this:
