Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

We have entered into discussions with the SCUMM team (scummvm.org) about working more closely together in terms of community development. Hopefully in the near future we will be able to merge the development of the scripts and the coding - this is about keeping things together and creating a well-functioning and secure code base.

Since we seem to have several people inquiring about the Patreon promotion , we thought we'd start it again for the iPad version. So, if you'd like to help us keep this project up and running, please help us promote ScummVM on our newly-created Patreon page .

Alright, I'll admit it. I've been trying to keep my blog entries as entertaining as possible so that you'd want to read them, and I can't think of a more entertaining way to dive into a topic than by explaining my sources' terms and self-referential jokes. But now I'm really interested in what you think we can do with this app, so we'll let you take over. What do you guys want to see next?

Next month we'd like to release an alpha of our version 1.4.2, which will include a redesigned user interface and more to keep you entertained. We've been thinking about the future of ScummVM, and so we're planning to be a bit more open with what we do on the website and the forums. Once again, we'd like to encourage you to play these games and to spread the word about them. They're good stories that, much like the ScummVM engine, are the intellectual property of their original creators and their team of readers, and they're looking for a home in the world of interactive fiction games. 84d34552a1
