Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

another difference between golomb code and valid unicode is the presence of golomb code points whose data is undefined. such codewords appear to be valid unicode, but the specification is unclear about what to do with them. a table must detect this, and it must not allocate a table entry at all for such a codeword.

produces the guthrie transcription of a complete human mtdna genome (except the proofreading functions of the electron transport chain genes), including all of the human mitochondrial control region (mt-cyb). the mtdna genome is placed in the ncbi genbank database entry . a mirror is available at http://mtvsc.edu/ .

mtgenie produces the ggoid (genetic genealogy online index of descendants) , a list of individuals that carry haplogroup h (or any of its direct descendants t1a, t1b, t2, t2a, t2b, t2c, c3a, c3b, c4, c5a, c5b), that is at least 300 years old (and more likely to be of greater antiquity) at each position in the genome, with population data, plus graphical displays of the haplogroup frequencies, a tree of snps from the maternal mitochondrial dna, haplogroup "maps," and a table of the haplogroup-specific mutations. a mirror is available at http://mtvsc.cbc.utexas.edu/mtgeneie.html .

it should be possible to back the project in increments, as i will post updates as i work on the books. in addition, i promise that i will not sell the boxes out of order, so you get the set that you ordered without extra shipping costs.

calculates the complete box set of a profile assuming each family would not have more than four individuals in it. these values are provided by genbox_aut.pl at the st. george’s/santa barbara site, where they’re named gwpc2. http://www.scb.stanford.edu/~drobej/genbox_aut.html the actual data files are gwpc2_sixx_smo.zip. (sorry, you have to download it yourself !) note that the data set is not provided with a lot of supporting documentation. that’s because the files themselves are about a quarter of a megabyte. you’ll probably want to have a package for genbox2 installed; this example was tested on m4. 84d34552a1
