Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Jsonapi Checker Library

Overview

This library let you to validate an API against the JSON API specifications. And it exposes the rules defined by these specifications.

This library is used in the following stack (but can be used alone) :

  • UI : ReactJS + json-api-store + bootstrap
  • Server : hapi (nodejs)
  • JSON API validation library : built on Chai (nodejs)

Use

Installation

npm i --save jsonapi-checker-lib

Validation

Validate a payload :

const validate = require('jsonapi-checker-lib').validator;
validate(body).to.be.a.ValidDocument(options);

validate(header).to.be.ValidHeaders();

validate(url).to.be.a.ValidUrl()

The options parameter can contain :

  • fromClient : true if the payload is sent by the client to the server
  • method : HTTP method of the request (GET, POST, PATCH, DELETE,...)

Get the rules

# rules is a multi-level object
const rules = require('jsonapi-checker-lib').rules.list;
# flatRules is a one level object
const flatRules = require('jsonapi-checker-lib').rules.flat;
