Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Essential Calculus is currently the best calculus textbook in the market. It is still a strong text with new approaches that allow it to stand apart from all other textbooks. All of the text is self contained and always includes an assignment. This is one of the few texts I would recommend for people who have studied Calculus up to Calculus 1. If you are an instructor, I recommend you check out the website for this book. There are many good problem sets for you to use.

From the back cover: A concise approach to teaching calculus with a modern edge; long-time favorites in the back; shorter, more efficient section introductions. ESSENTIAL CALCULUS offers a concise approach to teaching calculus, focusing on major concepts and supporting those with precise definitions, patient explanations, and carefully graded problems. ESSENTIAL CALCULUS uses the author's "five-box-framework" and "human-centered approach," concepts which are easy to understand and use. The book includes Stewart's favorite upper-level topics, including hyperbolic functions, complex variables, double integrals, convex functions, and optimization, and other essentials, including an analysis of the family of functions described by algebraic equations. As in other Stewart texts, the exposition is clear, and patients covers are concise and in order, leaving plenty of time for problem solving. This book also contains Stewart's new-for-2002 chapters on "Frobenius manifolds and strange attractors."

James Stewart did it. From the back cover:An unparalleled selection of fascinating and challenging problems; concise, accessible exposition; no theorem-chasing; intermediate solutions; visual aids; errata in the back. Stewart's ESSENTIAL CALCULUS offers a concise approach to teaching calculus, focusing on major concepts and supporting those with precise definitions, patient explanations, and carefully graded problems. ESSENTIAL CALCULUS uses the author's "five-box-framework" and "human-centered approach," concepts which are easy to understand and use. In this book Stewart explores a variety of fascinating topics, including trigonometry, complex numbers, function continuity, and improper integrals. A website (www.StewartCalculus.com) is embedded in the text, and gives Stewart's "state of the art" insights into the material he is presenting. Some real-world applications for the subjects covered in the text are sprinkled throughout. The most challenging problems, or even the solutions to the most interesting problems, are included at the end of the book to help the reader gain a deeper understanding. Questions of a practical nature are also addressed. Stewart hopes that this book will enable readers to enjoy their calculus course a great deal more than they thought possible. 84d34552a1
