Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Check if provided string is valid mac address

Installation

Install with npm:

$ npm install is-mac-address --save

Usage

var MAC_ADDRESS = require('is-mac-address')

MAC_ADDRESS.isMACAddress('invalid-str')
// => false

MAC_ADDRESS.isMACAddress('10:10:10:10:11:09')
// => true

MAC_ADDRESS.isMACAddress([])
// => throws TypeError

Clone the repo

API

isMACAddress(str)

Given a mac address this API checks if it is valid mac address or not

It throws

  1. TypeError if str is not provided or if provided but not of type String

Example

var MAC_ADDRESS = require('is-mac-address')

MAC_ADDRESS.isMACAddress('invalid-str')
// => false

MAC_ADDRESS.isMACAddress('10:09:07:06:03:01')
// => true

MAC_ADDRESS.isMACAddress([])
// => throws TypeError
