Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Todo

  • Add Outlook calendar
  • Add function to add events to calendar
  • Extend vis widget

Google Calendar

Google API Key

You need an api key. Visit https://console.cloud.google.com/apis/dashboard and login with your google account.

Open the list in the header and create a new project. Enter a project name like "ioBroker Calendar" and click create.

Make sure you have selected the right project from the list. Open the library tab. Search for "Calendar" and click on "Google Calendar API".

Click "activate" and then click on "APIs & Services". Open the tab "OAuth consent screen" and type a application name like "ioBroker Calendar". You can also upload a logo, but this is not necessary.

Open the "Credentials" tab, click the "Create credentials" dropdown and select "OAuth client ID". In the next step choose "Other". Type a name like "ioBroker" or "Client".

Create the client id and copy the displayed client ID and the client secret.

Go to the adapter config and add the client ID and the client secret.

Add an account

If you want to add an account, click on the button.

The button will take you to an authorization page where you have to give permission.

When you have selected your account and authorized the client, a code will be displayed.

Copy the code and add a calendar in the adapter settings using the + symbol.

Paste the code in the "Code" column and save all settings.

After the restart, the adapter will read out and save all available calendars. The calendars can then be activated in the settings.

Caldav Calendar (Tested with Nextcloud, Web.de and Mail.de)

You can add your caldav calendar in the adapter config.

Enter your access data and the host name in the config.

Baseurl list

  • Nextcloud: https://<Hostname>/remote.php/dav or https://<Hostname>/remote.php/dav/principals
  • Web.de: https://caldav.web.de
  • mail.de: https://kalender.mail.de
  • Posteo: https://posteo.de:8443

If you know more, please let me know so that I can include them.

You can add your iCal calendar in the adapter config.

Enter the file path on the CalDav tab in the hostname field.
