Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

This fork has some new features:

  • Automatically add 9.09% (Material Design Guide) of corner radius on Android icons;
  • Double Android icons: square and rounded version;
  • Auto move exported icons to Android and iOS folder;
  • Generates hi-res android icons to be used as splashscreens;
  • Pass optional file path to generate an optimized round icon;
  • Windows compatibility;

Automatically generate all app market icons from a single image (iOS + Android + Web).

Installation

First download and install GraphicsMagick or ImageMagick. In Mac OS X, you can simply use Homebrew and do:

brew install imagemagick graphicsmagick

Then install iconerator via npm with:

npm install -g iconerator-next

Usage

iconerator [options] <img file ...> <optional output path ...>

Options:

-h, --help          output usage information
-V, --version       output the version number
--only-ios          Only generate iOS icons
--only-android      Only generate Android icons
--only-iphone       Only generate iPhone icons
--only-ipad         Only generate iPad icons
--only-web          Only generate Web icons
--round-file <path> Pass icon to round (Android only)

Configuration

A list of the icon sizes and resolutions to be generated is externalized inside of ./lib/config.js. This can be safely updated to include custom icon sizes.

The full list of default icon sizes (in pixels) is:

iOS

  • 29x29 (iOS - Settings icon - iPad 2 & iPad mini standard res)
  • 40x40 (iOS - Spotlight search results - iPad 2 & iPad mini standard res)
