Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

InformaCast Mobile REST Client

A simple REST client for Node to communicate with the InformaCast Mobile API. This library defines a simple wrapper around the great rest library. Because of this, the format of request params and client configuration params are the same.

Installation

Node

npm install icm-js-client --save

Browser

bower install icm-js-client --save

Usage

Make sure to require the client in your code

Node

var ICMClient = require('icm-nodejs-client');

Browser

<script type="text/javascript" src="vendor/bundle.min.js"></script>

Create an instance of the client

var client = ICMClient({
    token: 'KBXCNEAYXEI6JOUVXDUFMMTXI3PHWUNALIPBDZFLGGFB2AZ5YM5HDYNJFLIVWX6ZT56A='
});

A list of options that can be passed to create the client can be found in the table below:

| Name | Required | Type | Default | Description | |-----------------|----------|----------|--------------------------------------|-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------| | url | false | String |'https://api.icmobile.singlewire.com' | Used if necessary to provide a different API endpoint. Useful for testing. | | token | true | String | null | The required API token to authorize requests. | | clientSetup | false | Function | null | Passes the wrapped rest object for additional configuration. Useful for defining additional interceptors |

Create

client.users().create({entity: {name: 'John Smith', email: '[email protected]'}});
client.notifications().create({entity: {messageTemplateId: 'cc93bfd0-9917-11e4-a401-c22f013130a9', subject: 'FooBar'}});

Read

To read an individual resource:

client.users('fa875180-7fc3-11e4-a09c-7a198bebdf90').show();
client.users('fa875180-7fc3-11e4-a09c-7a198bebdf90').notifications('3bc560d0-974b-11e4-b83f-1ae59cb5b126').show();

To list/paginate/search a resource:

// List with the default page size
client.users().list();

// List with max of 50 per page
client.users().list({params: {limit: 50}});

// Search for users with the name John
client.users().list({params: {q: 'John'}});

// The client library a helper method to make pagination easier
client.paginate(client.users().list(), function(usersPage) {
    // Do something awesome with this page
    return true; // Return true to get the next page (if available), false to stop
}, function(error) {
    // Something went wrong!
});

Update

client.users('de7b51a0-5a1e-11e4-ab31-8a1d033dd637').update({entity: {name: 'John Jacob Smith'}});
client.distributionLists('dada08f0-7fc3-11e4-a09c-7a198bebdf90').update({entity: {name: 'Updated Name'}});

Delete

client.users('de7b51a0-5a1e-11e4-ab31-8a1d033dd637').remove();
client.distributionLists('dada08f0-7fc3-11e4-a09c-7a198bebdf90').remove();

Note

Every request returns a Promise object and can be used as described below. The response format can be found in the Common Response Properties section of the rest docs.

var responsePromise = ...;
responsePromise.then(function(response) {
    // Request was successful, process the data
}, function (error) {
    // Request failed
});

Building

Make sure gulp is installed:

npm install -g gulp bower

Make sure you've ran:

npm install
bower install

To build, simply run:

gulp

Testing

npm test

For browser tests open test/index.html
