Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

"# homebridge-yamaha_mc3" Based on the Yamaha Extended Control API Spec (https://github.com/samvdb/php-musiccast-api/blob/master/yxc-api-spec-advanced.pdf) With this homebridge module you can control your Yamaha Networked devices, in my case MusicCast devices. This homebridge module is an alternative for homebridge-yamaha_mc. Since I configured it as a fan you can also set the volume (rotation speed :) ) beside setting it on and off. This because the Apple Homekit does not support speakers yet. Just name your device as speaker or what you like, in Homekit. And control your music by talking to Siri: "Set my amplifier to 25%", "Put off my speaker", "Set my speaker lower" (words used for fans...) Enjoy!

Add this to the config.json, for each device you want to add. Just adjust the name and the IP address for each accessory. The zone 'main' in general should work, not to be confused with room names. For my Yamaha RN-602 the maximum volume setting is 161, for the WX-030 and the WX-010 it is 60. Check the max volume setting by using this url in your homenetwork: http://192.168.1.220/YamahaExtendedControl/v1/main/getStatus (with your own Yamaha IP address of course, set it static via the http interface) Find the value at "max_volume", in the JSON string result. Add as much speakers you have as a new accessory:

"accessories": [ { "accessory": "YamahaMC3", "name": "Yamaha RN-602", "host": "192.168.1.210", "zone": "main", "maxvol":161 }, {
"accessory": "YamahaMC3", "name": "Yamaha WX-030", "host": "192.168.1.220", "zone": "main", "maxvol":60 }
]

For being sure about a correct registration, use to install: sudo npm install -g homebridge-yamaha_mc3
