Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

homebridge-MotionSensor

Creates a Motion Sensor Accessory for iOS Home app/Homekit via Homebridge. The state of the sensor can be periodically checked or only checked when homebridge requests the current value.

Installation

  1. Install homebridge using: npm install -g homebridge
  2. Install this plugin using: npm install -g homebridge-MotionSensor or sudo npm install -g git+https://github.com/lagunacomputer/homebridge-MotionSensor.git
  3. Update your configuration file. See sample-config.json in this repository for a sample.

Configuration

See the sample-config.file to see an example of working accessory. Following, all available options are explained:

The mandatory options are:

  • url Endpoint to call when the state is requested.
  • name Accessory name.

The other available options are:

  • manufacter Manufacter name to be displayed.
  • model Model name to be displayed.
  • serial Serial number to be displayed.
  • http_method Http metod that will be used to call the url when the state is requested. Default is 'GET' (check request module to get the available options).
  • json_response This option defines the field that must be parsed to get the state in the endpoint response body. If not defined (or if the value is an empty string which is the default) the response is assumed to be a boolean value directly.
  • timeout Maximum time in miliseconds to wait for the sensor response before fail (Default 3000ms).
  • update_interval If not zero, the field defines the polling period in miliseconds for the sensor state (Default is 30000ms). When the value is zero, the state is only updated when homebridge requests the current value.

Endpoint expectations

The enpoint can return 2 types of body responses:

  • JSON. The reponse body is a JSON and the fied with the current status is defined using the json_response option.
  • Boolean value. The response body is directyle the current status. Accepted values are: 0, false, 1, true.
