Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Hacking The IKEA TRADFRI LED Power Supply ((BETTER))

ikea light bulb not-so-secret: the solution is to take apart the bulb and connect directly to the main power supply. now, the bulb will be very hot and might be unsafe for children. but the next step is to take the pwm chip out of the housing. the packaging is of the same material as the bulb, so it is easy to remove.

hardware hacking on a website, is it possible? yes, of course. :-) this time we will learn how to hack the led brightness of the ikea tradfri light bulb. the trick is to use a light sensor and some fun arduino code to do the controlling instead of relying on the wall wart.

hack the tradfri : the lamp  the tradfri light bulb is the heart of the ikea home solution - a wireless home automation system. the tradfri is composed of a light bulb, a microcontroller, a wall wart, a power pack, a ip protocol relay, and a smart phone. the tradfri light bulb consists of a lamp (light), a microcontroller, a circuit board, a micro controller that controls the lamp and a transformer that powers the lamp. there are several models of tradfri light bulbs available on the internet. the light bulb uses a battery to power the light bulb and the transformer is used to convert 12v to 24v or to control the on and off states of the light bulb.

arduino is a great platform for hacking, but [jonas] isnt using the arduino hardware at all in his project. he is instead using an esp8266, and building a whole project around it. this esp8266 runs linux, and its built on top of a esp8266 development board. in this case, [jonas] is using an arduino shield to create a wireless system for controlling a led fixture in his kitchen. 84d34552a1
