Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

gulp-ng-recipes

A collection of gulp tasks to share with all your projects.

When gulp 4 is released, gulp-ng-recipes will be rewritten to support custom registries.

Sample Project : spa-starter-kit

Node: this module assumes you are using typescript with JSPM.

Installation

Prerequisites: node.js 5.x, ruby, gem install scss_lint optionally gem install scss

SASS: for windows, install gulp-ruby-sass npm module, for linux or Mac use gulp-sass.

# install prerequisite globe npm modules
npm install -g gulp tsd jspm
# install this npm modules
npm install gulp-ng-recipes --save-dev --no-optional
# install optional sass npm module
npm install gulp-sass --save-dev # or npm install gulp-ruby-sass --save-dev

gulpfile.ts

create gulpfile.ts file in your project root. Add recipes you needed as shown below:

import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/globals';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/server';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/tslint';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/sasslint';
// if you are using ruby sass, use: import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/sass.ruby';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/sass';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/images';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/fonts';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/html';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/offline';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/build';
import 'gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/gpdeploy';

or

gulpfile.js

create gulpfile.js file in your project root. Add recipes you needed as shown below:

require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/globals');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/server');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/tslint');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/sasslint');
// if you are using ruby sass, use: require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/sass.ruby');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/sass');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/images');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/fonts');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/html');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/offline');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/build');
require('gulp-ng-recipes/dist/gpdeploy');

gulp config

we support cascaded configuration files with environment specific overwrites based on NODE_ENV you pass in command-line i.e., gulp serve --env=prod

copy sample config files from node_modules/gulp-ng-recipes/gulp/config to your project gulp/config folder.

Issues

  • if you have issues with gulp-sass (on windows!), manually install gulp-ruby-sass and use sass.ruby.js recipe provided.
