Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

The gameplay offers a combination of dynamic and idle free-roaming missions. During idle, players are afforded the option of exploring Vice City on their own, finding missions, purchasing cars, or other such activities. Idle mode is the primary method of progressing through the game, but is needed only when a player is busy with other objectives, such as when the player is in pursuit of a target. Dynamic missions are those where the player is forced to take action. These involve searching out criminals and taking part in shoot-outs. The player will eventually complete each mission, after which they can repeat the mission, completing it with a better outcome. If the player completes the final mission, however, an epilogue is shown, detailing the rest of the plot, as well as finishing the game.

Vice City also allows players to utilize the second-screen controls for some game activities. The in-game menus can be navigated using the PlayStation 2's XMB, or the navigation options can be accessed using the controls of the first-party headphones. Both methods of navigation open up the same menu. Certain activities offer a third option for navigation, such as driving, which uses the second controller as a steering wheel. Also, for a limited period, a Dual Shock wireless controller could be used to control the game.

He also took time to address the disappointment many had with the story of Vice City's protagonist, Johnny Klebitz. Rockstar producer Leslie Benzies said in a video interview in 2006 that the main character of Vice City had been changed to allow them to take more creative licence with plot-related elements and "alter the world" by placing Vice City "somewhere else". He added that such a change had been made after Vice City producer Dan Houser had expressed concern that the entire game had "reached its natural conclusion". 84d34552a1
