github-file-exists

A simple package to check if a GitHub repository contains a certain file.

Installation

Using npm:

npm install github-file-exists

Using yarn:

yarn add github-file-exists

Usage

Using promises:

const githubFileExists = require("github-file-exists");

githubFileExists("marvinschopf", "file-exists", ".gitignore").then(
	(fileExists) => {
		if (fileExists) {
			console.log("File exists!");
		} else {
			console.log("File does not exist!");
		}
	}
);

Using async / await:

const githubFileExists = require("github-file-exists");

const fileExists = await githubFileExists(
	"marvinschopf",
	"file-exists",
	".gitignore"
);
if (fileExists) {
	console.log("File exists!");
} else {
	console.log("File does not exist!");
}

Using ES6 import:

import exists from "github-file-exists";

const fileExists = await exists("marvinschopf", "file-exists", ".gitignore");

if (fileExists) {
	console.log("File exists!");
} else {
	console.log("File does not exist!");
}
