Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Git Pinned Repos

git-pinned-repos is a CLI tool and React component generator that helps you easily create and display a GitHub pinned repositories component for your React or Next.js applications. With this tool, you can fetch and display your GitHub pinned repositories using a GitHub token and integrate the component into your project with ease.

Installation

To install the package, run the following command:

npm install git-pinned-repos

or

yarn add git-pinned-repos

can use the CLI tool to generate the component. Once installed, run the below cammand to get the component in your current directory:


npx create-git-pinned-repos

Add the GITHUB_TOKEN to your .env file according to the framework you use

if using VITE uncomment the import.meta.env.VITE_GITHUB_TOKEN line from the component

VITE_GITHUB_TOKEN=your-github-token-here 


or

NEXT_PUBLIC_GITHUB_TOKEN=your-token

or

REACT_APP_GITHUB_TOKEN=your-token
