Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Friendly Reminder

npm version

Friendly Reminder is a simple command-line tool that displays random motivational or self-care reminders at regular intervals in your terminal & Desktop notificaitons. Use it to stay productive and mindful while you work!

Installation

You can install the package globally using npm:

npm install -g friendly-reminder

Usage

Run the friendly-reminder command in your terminal to start receiving reminders. By default, reminders appear every 1 hour (60 minutes).

Custom Interval

You can pass a custom interval (in minutes) to the command. For example, to set a reminder every 10 minutes:

friendly-reminder 10

Example

Run the following command for reminders every 15 minutes:

friendly-reminder 15

This will output reminders like:

[14:30:22] Stay hydrated!
[14:45:22] Take a deep breath and relax.
[15:00:22] Time to stretch your legs.
