Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

foxfi is not really a application but a platform that allows you to create hotspots, and act as a hotspot even if the phone isn’t rooted. its probably the only android application that you can turn your phone into a freewifi, a public wifi hotspot as well as a mobile network (4g).

foxfi is a very open source project. while it’s not as open as its really wanted to be, it has been open from day one. while rooted, foxfi allows you to be connected to a public wifi (like a cafe, airport or hotel), and your 3g or 4g data connection, while connected to a mobile network from the same provider (if it has been activated for such network). all this while your phone is turned off and in airplane mode.

the next step, is to get into the code of the program that i (just) started. unlike a lot of open source programs, foxfi is a bit of a hacky mess of code (to be kind). while it is possible to reverse engineer it, and use the code to create a hack of your own, what you can do is hit up the git project.

the foxfi app is a tool that gives you the ability to share your wi-fi connection on your android device. you can also be able to share your mobile data connection. it offers a high-quality wireless network to other devices, and is one of the most affordable, yet powerful, solutions available. the foxfi free version has a limit for concurrent connections, which means it will shut down and redirect you to a page where you need to pay to continue using the app.

the foxfi app was developed and is a name of the company net2phone, llc. unlike other apps, like hotspot shield, there are no tricks to be used. all you need to do is download the app and start using it. if you need to connect to a different wi-fi network, your device will get redirected automatically to the settings screen. you can find out the settings and connect to any wi-fi network, including password-protected networks. 84d34552a1
