Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

So you have the free font subscription, and you installed all of the font files right? You have a few choices on how to start using the font. Below I will go over my favorites and get into some useful information.

Whether you're the content manager, or have your team oversee the process, the easiest way to use a font for your creation is to add it to a project. You'll get instant options for the font name and for the weight, which will help you keep your text organized. You can also copy the source code of the font and paste it into the text area of your file. However, we will go over best practices of how to use free fonts in other ways.

In addition to using a font on a single page, you can use the same or different font on several pages. It's common practice to select a certain typeface for your project with a certain color scheme. For example, you may start with a light monospace font, but when the copy is too light, you may want to switch it to a darker one for a more professional look.

Use a font for an entire document, or even across multiple documents. When using a single font across multiple pages, be aware of the license's pageview and bandwidth limits. You can install a PDF reader like Scribd to preview the font on your page before publishing.

A font can be used on several different pages. But you can only use one font per page. If you would like to use the same font on several pages in a document, you will need to change the font name to change the page, so be aware of this.

Make sure that you are using a version of the font that is not included in the font license. For example, if your font is free to use for personal use, make sure that you do not include the commercial license in your document. Copyrighted fonts will cause all the code used to activate the license to fail. You will need to contact the license holder for a free commercial license. By checking 'edit', you can also change the font to be used, to ensure that the font is being used correctly. 84d34552a1
