Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Ember-spin-spinner

Simple Ember spinner component based on spin.js.

Build Status

Installation

ember install ember-spin-spinner

Usage

Example:

<!-- somepage.hbs -->

<div class='loading-container'>
  {{spin-spinner lines=13 length=20 width=10}}
</div>
/* somepage.css */

.loading-container {

  /* The spinner is absolutely positioned (in the center by default),
   * so make sure to set the containing element's position to relative.
   */
  position: relative;
}

The spinner is absolutely positioned (in the center by default), so make sure to set the containing element's position to relative. You may also want to give the containing element a minimum height.

The following properties can be set to customize a particular spinner:

  • lines (default: 13): the number of lines to draw.
  • length (default: 20): the length of each line.
  • width (default: 10): the line thickness.
  • radius (default: 30): the radius of the inner circle.
  • scale (default: 1): scales the overall size of the spinner.
  • corners (default: 1): corner roundness (0..1).
  • rotate (default: 0): the rotation offset.
  • direction (default: 1): 1 for clockwise, -1 for counterclockwise.
  • color (default: #333): #rgb or #rrggbb or array of colors.
  • speed (default: 1): rounds per second.
  • trail (default: 60): afterglow percentage.
  • zIndex (default: 2e9): the z-index
  • shadow (default: false): whether to render a shadow.
  • hwaccel (default: false): whether to use hardware acceleration.
  • top (default: '50%'): top position relative to parent.
  • left (default: '50%'): left position relative to parent.

If you want to set different defaults for all spinners in your application, extend the component and override the defaults with your own:

// app/components/spin-spinner.js
import SpinSpinnerComponent from 'ember-spin-spinner/components/spin-spinner';

export default SpinSpinnerComponent.extend({
  length: 6,

  width: 2
});
