Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Installation

ember install ember-frost-table

API and Examples

Detailed API and example usage can be found in the sample application in tests/dummy, which is also running at http://ciena-frost.github.io/ember-frost-table

Testing with ember-hook

This addon has been optimized for use with ember-hook. You can set a hook name on your table template. This will allow you to access the internal table content for testing.

Development

Setup

Fork the repo.

Then clone from your fork.

git clone [email protected]:<your-account-name-here>/ember-frost-table.git
cd ember-frost-table

Add a remote for the upstream repo.

git remote add upstream [email protected]:ciena-frost/ember-frost-table.git

Create a branch for your work

git checkout -b my-awesome-feature

Install deps

npm install && bower install

Coding

A dummy application for development is available under ember-frost-table/tests/dummy. To run the server run ember server (or npm start) from the root of the repository and visit the app at http://localhost:4200.

Then, write some code

<code> the awesome feature </code>

Save your work (early and often)

git add <the files you touched>
git commit

Push your changes to your fork (early and often)

git push origin my-awesome-branch

Testing

Run npm test from the root of the project to run linting checks as well as execute the test suite and output code coverage. This will make sure you didn't break anything else.

Now, don't forget to add tests for the new feature/bugfix you just added.

<code> tests for the awesome feature </code>

You can also run tests as you code and as you write more tests by running the development server in test mode ember s -e test and then visiting http://localhost:4200/tests.
