Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

EmbedAPI CLI

The embedapi-cli is a command-line interface tool for developers to interact with EmbedAPI services. This CLI provides a straightforward way to manage your AI-driven applications, perform API requests, configure your AI agents, and integrate various AI tools seamlessly from the command line.

Installation

To install the CLI globally, run:

npm install -g embedapi-cli

Usage

Once installed, you can use the CLI to interact with your AI models, manage applications, or make API calls. Here are some examples:

Authenticating

Before making API requests, you need to authenticate using your API key.

embedapi-cli auth --apiKey YOUR_API_KEY

Generating Text

Generate text using one of the AI models:

embedapi-cli generate-text --service openai --model gpt-4o --prompt "Tell me about the future of AI."

List Available Models

List all available AI models:

embedapi-cli models list

Configure Settings

Set global configurations, such as the default model or service:

embedapi-cli config set --default-model gpt-3.5-turbo

Available Commands

  • auth: Authenticate using your API key.
  • generate-text: Generate text with a specified model.
  • models list: List all supported models and services.
  • config set: Set default configurations.

Examples

  • Generate a poem using Anthropic's Claude model:

    embedapi-cli generate-text --service anthropic --model claude-3 --prompt "Write a poem about the stars."
  • Check your current settings:

    embedapi-cli config show

Configuration File

The CLI stores your configuration in a .embedapi-config file in your home directory. You can manually edit this file or use CLI commands to update your settings.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues while using the CLI, use the following command for more detailed logs:

embedapi-cli --debug
