Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

dude

dude.js is your sidekick for your NodeJS projects.

Install

npm install -g dudejs

API

var dude = require('dude.js');

CLI

Dudejs ships with a CLI so you can access it via terminal

dudejs

This will show you all available actions. You can get more info about each action by typing:

dudejs usage <action>

Server manager

Dudejs ships with a server manager so you can easily start/stop/reload your server scripts written in NodeJS. It uses NodeJS built-in cluster.

dudejs start server.js
dudejs reload server.js
dudejs stop server.js

dude.start('server.js');
dude.reload('server.js');
dude.stop('server.js');

Build tools

Dudejs ships with build support for:

  • SASS
  • Browserify/Watchify
  • UglifyJS

All builds can be automated on watching file changes.

Dependency manager

Dudejs ships with a dependency manager so you install/update/remove low-level dependencies per-project and directory based. Dependencies supported:

  • MongoDB
  • Redis
