Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

You think all the best music youll ever hear is recorded over a last-ditch effort by the Beatles at Abbey Road Studios. The truth is, part of the reason you think that is because Nothing Was the Same is a contender for the best record youll hear in the whole entire universe. Listen to Drake and you realise something simple: that music IS love, but sometimes not the love you think. Sometimes its just love. Sometimes its death. But its still love. Sometimes it sounds like love, sometimes its like death: I know the difference. Maybe you didnt think Drake would get that nuanced, but he does, even as he repudiates himself and his body in the most experimental ways. Watching him deliver the lines ("Hurts to love a man with a woman on his mind"), they seem more like a deathbed confession than a typical diss record. But his soft, rambling voice gives the whole thing intimacy, and its amazing to hear a guy with a voice this gorgeous make a record that sounds so dead. You probably need Hear me now, Im talking about more than just the heart. In my heart... Chananya Speaks

Dilated Ponds Nothing Was the Same "back-to-basics", boss. The title track of the L.A. duo’s second album finds an inspiration of imperfection. I tell the story of a relationship with my best friend who I was in love with (and still am). I don’t make it home with her each and every night, and I don’t express my emotions in the same way that I used to. I no longer feel the same way I did during our inception. When I get a lead of energy, I’m not sure what to do with it. I feel aimless. She’s been there since she was sixteen, and I’ve never held myself accountable to her, even though she has every right to. She knows how I am. I know how she is. I suck at life."
