Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

jQuery List DragSort

This is simple sortable (drag and drop) library. It works with latest jQuery version and mobile/touch devices Supports bower and npm

Demo

Changes by me

  • Support touch events
  • Support latest jQuery version
  • Add new option cursor which can change default cursor from "pointer" to "move" for example
  • Optimize the code
  • Make it works with bower or npm

Usage

$('ul').dragsort({
    dragSelector: 'li',
    dragEnd: function() {
        console.log('Drag End');
    }, dragBetween: false,
    placeHolderTemplate: '<li></li>'
});

// $('ul').dragsort('destroy');
  • dragSelector: The CSS selector of the element inside the list item to act as the drag handle. The default is the list item itself e.g. LI.
  • dragSelectorExclude: The css selector of the elements inside the dragSelector to not trigger dragsort. The default is "input, textarea".
  • itemSelector: The css selector of the list items that are moveable. Will only match elements that are immediate children of list container. The default is tag name of first child e.g. LI.
  • dragEnd: The callback function that will be called after the dragging has ended (only called if the list order has changed). The keyword "this" in function will refer to list item that was dragged.
  • dragBetween: Set to "true" if you want to enable the ability to drag between selected lists or to allow dragging of the list item outside of the list for auto scroll. The default is false.
  • placeHolderTemplate: The html of the place holder for the dragged item. The default is empty list item e.g. "<li></li>".
  • scrollContainer: The css selector of the element you want to scroll (i.e. div with overflow set to auto) when the list item is dragged outside the list. The default is window.
  • scrollSpeed: A number that represents the speed that the page will scroll when dragging an item outside the scroll container, a higher value is faster and a lower value is slower. Set to 0 to disable scrolling. The default is 5.
  • cursor: The CSS cursor when the item is dragged
