download-as-file

Forms data URI from the given text, then creates and clicks a link to download data as file

Install

npm install --save download-as-file

Either load via require('download-as-file') or by including dist/download-as-file.js from the browser

Use

If you want to download text when the user clicks button with id 'btn'

document.getElementById('btn').addEventListener('click', function () {
    downloadAsFile({
        data: 'this is some text',
        filename: 'demo.txt'
    })
})
