On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong became the first human to walk on the moon. In celebration of this historic event and to mark the 50th anniversary, Discovery Channel is honoring the life of one of our greatest astronauts by premiering a six-part series about Neil Armstrong. In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the moon landing, Discovery Channel, in collaboration with StarTrek.com, will premiere a special event on their websites, Facebook pages and social media channels called ONE GIANT LEAP: A NEIL ARMSTRONG TRIBUTE, featuring footage from Neil Armstrong's last public appearance. Guests will include crewmates Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins, along with many other astronauts, authors, actors and astronauts. The documentary, co-produced by the Discovery Channel, takes viewers on a personal journey with Armstrong, and will include footage from his NASA training, his moon walk, his splashdown and of course the famous words, "That's one small step for [a] man, one giant leap for mankind." From the making of the documentary to a behind-the-scenes look at Armstrong's future as he begins teaching a new generation of astronauts, ONE GIANT LEAP: A NEIL ARMSTRONG TRIBUTE will include exclusive interviews and never-before-seen footage.
