Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

discord-timestamp-generator

A utility package for creating Discord timestamps with customizable formats. Its simple and easy, use it in embeds, messages, everywhere you want! This module does not require any other npm modules to work.

Installation

npm install discord-timestamp-generator

Basic Usage

const { TimestampBuilder } = require('discord-timestamp-generator');

// Create a default timestamp
const timestamp = new TimestampBuilder().generate();

console.log(timestamp);

Customize Timestamp Type

You can customize the timestamp type by using the setType method. This is optional, and if not provided, the default type will be used. Here is a list of all types:

|Type|Example Response|Output (12-hour clock)|Output (24-hour clock) |--|--|--|-- |default|<t:1543392060>|November 28, 2018 9:01 AM|28 November 2018 09:01 |short|<t:1543392060:t>|9:01 AM|09:01 |long|<t:1543392060:T>|9:01:00 AM|09:01:00 |short-date|<t:1543392060:d>|11/28/2018|28/11/2018 |log-date|<t:1543392060:D>|November 28, 2018|28 November 2018 |short-date-time|<t:1543392060:f>|November 28, 2018 9:01 AM|28 November 2018 09:01 |long-date.time|<t:1543392060:F>|Wednesday, November 28, 2018 9:01 AM|Wednesday, 28 November 2018 09:01 |relative-time|<t:1543392060:R>|3 years ago|3 years ago

Code Example:

const { TimestampBuilder } = require('discord-timestamp-generator');

const timestamp = new TimestampBuilder()
  .setType('short-date-time')
  .generate();

console.log(timestamp);

Provide Custom Time

If you want to use a custom timestamp, you can use the setTime method. This is optional, and if not provided, the current time will be used.

const { TimestampBuilder } = require('discord-timestamp-generator');

const currentDate = new Date();
const customUnixTime = Math.floor(currentDate.getTime() / 1000);

const timestamp = new TimestampBuilder()
  .setTime(customUnixTime)
  .generate();

console.log(timestamp);

Together

This feature enables the creation of a highly customized timestamp, utilizing both a specified custom time and a personalized timestamp type.

const { TimestampBuilder } = require('discord-timestamp-generator');

const currentDate = new Date();
const customUnixTime = Math.floor(currentDate.getTime() / 1000);

const timestamp = new TimestampBuilder()
  .setType('short-date-time')
  .setTime(customUnixTime)
  .generate();

console.log(timestamp);
