dibigrator

A database migration tools using plain SQL scripts and semver;

Usage

Write some migrations scripts in a folder. Take a look at test/fixture:

ALTER TABLE uuser ADD COLUMN name varchar(50);

UPDATE uuser SET name = replace(substring(email from '(.*)@'), '.', ' ');

UPDATE uuser SET name=lower(name);

Then plug your postgresql connection to dibigrator, and call the migrate function.

var client = new pg.Client("tcp://USER:PASSWORD@localhost/postgres");
client.connect();
var dibigrator = require('dibigrator').postgres(client, '/path/to/my/migration/files');
dibigrator.migrate('0.2.1', function(err, migrations){
  if(err) return console.error(err);
  ...
});

Migrations scripts will be executed ;)

Test

$ export DATABASE_URL="tcp://USER:PASSWORD@localhost/postgres"
$ npm test
