Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Read Daybreak Games pack2 files

Install (as command line)

git clone [email protected]:fredkilbourn/dbg-pack2.git
cd dbg-pack2
npm install

To update:

git pull
npm update

Usage (as command line)

$ npm run dbg-pack2 -- help pack2-extract

  Usage: npm run dbg-pack2 -- pack2-extract [options] [pack2] [pack2-output] [name-list]

  extract files from a .pack2 file

  Arguments:
    pack2         .pack2 file or directory of files to extract (default: "data/pack2")
    pack2-output  base path to extract .pack2 files into (default: "data/pack2_extract")
    name-list     file with list of possible filenames inside of .pack2 file (default: "data/{NAMELIST}")

  Options:
    -h, --help    display help for command

(requires .pack2 asset file(s) from your game install folder)

$ npm run dbg-pack2 -- help data-extract

  Usage: npm run dbg-pack2 -- data-extract [options] [data] [data-output] [locale]

  extract data file to .json with mapped locale strings

  Arguments:
    data         data file to parse (default: "data/pack2_extract/data_x64_0.pack2/ClientItemDefinitions.txt")
    data-output  path to save extracted .json file (default: "data/data_extract")
    locale       locale file with hashed id to language mappings (default: "data/locale/en_us_data.dat")

  Options:
    -h, --help   display help for command

(requires exported data_x64_0.pack2 => ClientItemDefinitions.txt file and en_us_data.dat locale file from your game install folder)

Install (as library)

npm install dbg-pack2
