Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

davetwitter

A simple identity server that can be dropped into other server apps.

Changes

0.6.38 -- 8/14/22 by DW

New userLogonCallback callback. Called when the user has successfully logged in via Twitter. We send up the stack the information about the login, the user's screenname, userid, token and secret.

0.6.37 -- 6/30/22 by DW

Twitter turned off the API that getConfiguration was using.

We already had a good fallback implemented for errors, so we just use that to provide the info to apps.

0.6.36 -- 2/22/22 by DW

New function -- getTweetHistory.

All the data you need to build an RSS feed out of a Twitter account.

Use in conjunction with daverss.

0.6.35 -- 9/19/21 by DW

Overhaul of /derefurl call.

0.6.31 -- 9/9/21 by DW

Added new property to the standard user struct, urlProfileImage.

0.6.29 -- 7/24/21 by DW

Added /daytweets call for Get My Tweets functionality used by Drummer.

0.6.28 -- 3/12/21 by DW

New calls to get one tweet, which amazingly was not part of this package until today, and a call to get a thread.

These are also available through the API.

These features were added for the threadviewer.com app.

v0.5.21 -- 2/12/21 by DW

Sorry for the missing notes.

Added /getmymentions call.

v0.5.10 -- 3/24/19 by DW

There's a new HTTP call -- /disconnect. You should call it when the user signs off. It takes two params, the accessToken and accessTokenSecret for the user. It goes through the screenNameCache looking for the user, and deletes it if it's found. I've updated feedBase to make this call when the user signs off.

This problem was reported by @vincode-io. Many thanks for the excellent report and follow-up.
