Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

#DataBridge Logger

Environment variables

  • DATABRIDGE_KEY (optional): key for HTTPS
  • DATABRIDGE_CERTIFICATE (optional): certificate for https
  • NODE_PORT (optional), default is 3000 : port on which server operates
  • DATABRIDGE_LOGFILE (optional), default is './all.log' : name and path of logfile
  • DATABRIDGE_LOGGER_TCP_HOST (optional), if set enable TCP backend to this host
  • DATABRIDGE_LOGGER_TCP_PORT (optional), if set enable TCP backend to this port (the two need to be defined)

Protocol

This logging server accepts an array of JSON messages through HTTP/s Protocol.

The domain of valid JSON messages are defined in ./src/logSchema.json (A JSON-Schema descriptor)

This repo is available as a Docker Container

Build this container

(In the repo folder) Warning: The docker container only listen HTTP, you will need to put an HTTPS accelerator in front of this container

docker build -t databridge-logger .

Run this container

replace 9999 by whatever port you want to container to listen to

docker run -d -p 9999:80 databridge-logger
