Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Cypress Page Object Model Generator

Requirements

Installation


To install the plugin, use npm:

npm install -D cypress-pom-plugin

Usage


To generate a new page object with its associated files, use the following command:

cypress-pom-plugin <PageName> <PageUrl>

Example Command:

cypress-pom-plugin HomePage http://example.com/home

This will create a set of files for HomePage at the specified URL in the appropriate directories.

Generated Files:

  • Page Actions (HomePage.page.js): Contains methods for interacting with the page.
  • Page Locators (HomePage.page.locators.js): Contains selectors and locators for the page elements.
  • Page Tests (HomePage.test.js): A basic test file for the page.
  • Page Data (HomePage.data.json): A JSON file containing data specific to the page.

Examples


Generating a Page Object for "LoginPage":

Run the following command:

cypress-pom-plugin LoginPage http://example.com/login

This will create the following files:

  • cypress/pages/actions/LoginPage.page.js
  • cypress/pages/locators/LoginPage.page.locators.js
  • cypress/integration/tests/LoginPage.test.js
  • cypress/data/LoginPage.data.json
