Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Button Generator

This is a web tool for generating customizable buttons. Users can create a button, customize its appearance, and then export the code as JSON or copy and paste it into their own CSS file. There is also the option to import a button or generate a random button.

Running the Tool Locally

  1. Clone the repository to your local machine by running the command git clone https://github.com/your-username/button-generator.git
  2. Navigate to the cloned repository by running the command cd button-generator
  3. Install the necessary dependencies by running the command npm install
  4. Run the development server by running the command npm start
  5. The button generator should now be running on http://localhost:3000 in your web browser.

Using the Tool

  1. Click the "Create a Button" button to generate a new button.
  2. Use the customization options to change the appearance of the button to your liking.
  3. Once you are satisfied with the button's appearance, you have the option to export the button as JSON or copy and paste the CSS code for the button into your own stylesheet.
  4. You can also import a button by clicking the "Import a Button" button and pasting in the JSON or CSS code.
  5. You can also generate a random button by clicking the "Random Button" button.
