Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

create-be-app

A light-weight,yet fast command-line tool to quickly generate a bootstrapped backend project. Think of it as "create-react-app" for backend development!

Features

Getting Started

You can generate your backend project by running:

npx create-be-app <project-name>

This command will walk you through setting up a new backend project with your preferred configurations.

Usage

  1. Run the command:

    npx create-be-app my-backend

    Replace my-backend with the desired name for your project.

  2. Follow the prompts: The CLI will guide you through the setup process, allowing you to select frameworks, databases, and other configurations.

  3. Start developing: Once the setup is complete, navigate to your new project folder:

    cd my-backend

    Install dependencies and start your server.

Customization

  • The generated project structure is flexible and can be adjusted to suit your needs.
  • You can choose from various backend frameworks (e.g., Express, Fastify) and databases (e.g., MongoDB, PostgreSQL) during the setup process.
