Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Date Input Plugin for Apache Cordova

Cordova plugin to enhance text date inputs with native date selection.

Platforms

There is currently native support for iOS already, the aim of this plugin is to provide enhancements for Android (4.3 and under) and Windows Phone 8.

1 step install

cordova plugin add https://github.com/leecrossley/cordova-plugin-date-input.git

Usage

You do not need to reference any JavaScript, the Cordova plugin architecture will add a dateinput object to your root automatically when you build.

Ensure you use the plugin after your deviceready event has been fired.

Bind callback to elements WIP

The easiest way to use this plugin is to bind the native callback to all date inputs (input[type='date'] elements) once they have been rendered to the DOM. Calling the init function on the dateinput object will handle all this for you:

window.dateinput.init();

There is also support for a custom selector as the first argument of the init function:

window.dateinput.init("input.date");

Note: Ensure init is called after trigger elements are rendered to the DOM (there's no "on" style support).

Showing programatically WIP

You may wish to trigger the native callback programatically. The show function on the dateinput object has been surfaced to allow this:

var options = {

}; // WIP
window.dateinput.show(options);
