Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Component Locator Webpack Plugin

A Webpack plugin that allows you to quickly locate and open Vue components in your preferred editor by Ctrl/Cmd + clicking on elements in the browser.

Installation

npm install component-locator-webpack-plugin --save-dev

Usage

In your Webpack configuration file:

const ComponentLocatorPlugin = require('component-locator-webpack-plugin');

module.exports = {
  // ... other webpack config
  plugins: [
    new ComponentLocatorPlugin({
      // options
    })
  ]
};

Options

  • editor: The editor to open files in. Default: 'vscode'
  • componentExtensions: File extensions to consider as components. Default: ['.vue', '.js', '.ts', '.jsx', '.tsx']
  • triggerKey: The key to hold while clicking. Can be 'ctrl', 'cmd', or 'both'. Default: 'both'
  • srcDir: The source directory of your components. Default: 'src'
  • forceEnable: Force enable the plugin in production mode. Default: false
