Formidable middleware for Combi-Server ecosystem

If you need to get form data in your combi-server app (and lets face it, that's most websites), combi-server-body will safely parse form data so that you don't have to. The current release version doesn't handle file uploads, so an alternative for that will be needed for the time being.

Installing

combi-server-body is available via npm; npm install --save combi-server-body

Usage

Firstly, you'll need a handle to the combi-server-body object; var body = require("combi-server-body").

From here, there are two options: mounting the middleware immediately, or adding HTTP methods to those processed. Using the body.add(verb) and body.remove(verb) methods, you can add and remove request methods that will have their body parsed (by default, only POST requests have their body parsed).

To use the middleware, simply call server.use(body) at the relevant point in your app architecture. Typically this would be after mounting static file middleware (to save on method calls for simple file GETs) but before mounting any routing middleware or other middleware that relies on body elements.

e.g.

    body = require("combi-server-body");
    
body.add("DELETE"); // Our API wants delete requests to have an auth token in the body

server.use(body);

server.listen();

Body data can be accessed through the req.body parameter in any middleware calls after it is mounted.
