Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Code Rag Go

CLI tool that serves as an on-the-go RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) system for your codebase. It quickly generates a single text file containing your entire code context, optimized for use with Large Language Models (LLMs) like Claude and ChatGPT.

Usage

use with npx:

npx code-rag-go gen <directory-to-your-codebase> [options]

Options

  • -s, --strip-comments: Strip comments from the code
  • -b, --remove-blank-lines: Remove blank lines from the code
  • -g, --respect-gitignore: Respect .gitignore rules (default: true)
  • -m, --min: Apply all of the above options
  • -o, --output <file>: Specify an output file path

Example

code-rag-go gen ./my-project -m -o project_context.txt

This command will generate a context file for the ./my-project directory, stripping comments, removing blank lines, respecting .gitignore rules, and saving the output to project_context.txt.
