CJS to ES6 Module
Convert a CJS module to an ES6 module.
- Unlike other package managers, all
import
stuff must occur at the top-level of the module. - Does not support
require()
s in try/catch statements - Does not support conditional
require()
s - Does not support
require()
ing the same module multiple times - Does not support code with its own
require()
functions or methods - Does not fix extensions, which might be necessary for ES6 modules
- Probably only supports
module MyModule from "cjs-module"
syntax, not theimport {stuff} from "cjs-module"
syntax
API
es6js = convert(cjs)
var convert = require('cjs-to-module');
var js = convert(someCommonJSString);
The output will look something like:
module __0 from "events";
module __1 from "./local";
var __module = {};
(function (module, exports) {
})(__module, __module.exports = {});
export default __module.exports;
