Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Modified CBP Common Theme

Updated Packages/Elements

  • now supports @fortawesome/fontawesome-free package, which includes/supports Font Awesome v.5.4.1
  • refactored Vendor and Custom SASS code

This is the common UI theme for CBP. It is used for internal and external web applications. We encourage the reuse of the theme and welcome contributions. The theme is a set of artifacts (CSS, Javascript, and fonts), and we provide a static html page to demonstrate all the components available called the Kitchen Sink. We also provide a Style Guide to give guidance on how to use each component or pattern.

This project is based on Bootstrap 3 and Google's Material Design Lite open source projects that allows us to easily create and maintain. It is based on SASS.

Quickstart

Installation

The recommended way to get the latest CBP theme is by saving as a dependency via npm.

From your npm project, simply run:

  • npm i cbp-theme-modified --save
  • yarn add cbp-theme-modified

Note: It is recommended that you use npm to manage your frontend dependencies.
If you are not using npm, see alternative installations for other ways to get cbp-theme.

What you get

The CBP Theme artifacts are in the node_modules/cbp-theme/dist directory. The dist directory contains:

  • cbp-theme.css - Full Combined Content
  • cbp-theme.min.css - For production Use
  • cbp-theme.min.css.map - Mapped to scss for debugging
  • cbp-theme.browser.bundle.umd.js This contains everything you need except jQuery for browser consumption.
  • cbp-theme.esm5.js ESM5 Module are for use in your builds e.g. Angular, React, Webpack
  • cbp-theme.umd.js UMD Module without any dependencies bundled in in case you have the dependencies added separately.
  • cbp-theme-inputmask.umd.js jQuery Inputmask bundled with few minimum inputmask plugins required for style. Use this with cbp-theme.browser.bundle.umd.js or cbp-theme.umd.js.
  • @fortawesome/fontawesome-free*.* v5.4.1 Font Awesome Icons
  • Roboto-*.* - Roboto Fonts referenced by css
  • scss/ - For those who want to import scss files shown below:-

Consuming cbp-theme in your ES6/TypeScript project

Whether you are using Webpack or Rullup cbp-theme package is distributed with cbp-theme.esm5.js as module. This allows you to import the required functions as below and your build will pickup the correct 3rd party dependencies installed as cbp-theme dependencies: import {applyCharLimit, applyDatePicker, applyTags, applyThirdPartySelect } from 'cbp-theme';

Consuming cbp-theme by Including in your html

Using the cbp theme is as easy as including cbp-theme.min.css and cbp-theme.browser.bundle.umd.js in your markup. Optionally cbp-theme-inputmask.umd.js can be used for inputmask. Note: cbp-theme does require jQuery 3.x or higher to be included before adding cbp-theme.js. This option is meant for in browser consumption only as apposed to using in your build. Refer to kitchensink/index.html for markup reference.

Order of Javascript Dependencies

  <!-- required CBP dependency: jQuery 3.x+ -->
  <script src="./path/to/thirdparty/js/jquery-3.3.1.min.js"></script>

  <!-- optional cbp-theme plugins -->
  <script src="./path/to/dist/cbp-theme-inputmask.umd.js"></script>

  <!-- application specific third party js files here -->
  <script src="./path/to/thirdparty/js/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>
  <script src="./path/to/thirdparty/js/alerts.js"></script>
  <script src="./path/to/thirdparty/js/select2.min.js"></script>

  <!-- js for cbp-theme should be loaded after all thirdparty js files -->
  <script src="./path/to/cbp-theme.browser.bundle.umd.js"></script>
