Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Everyone has their favorite team (sports, politics, religion). Why should crypto be any different? Pick your favorite team / project and put your money where your mouth is.

Giving the community what it wants

Infrastructure is the foundation upon which we BUIDL .. But then what? What are we actually BUIDLing? We need fresh faces. We should welcome the un-intiated. We just need more users all across the world using Bitcoin as their daily driver for cash transactions. How do we do that? We need to #MakeBitcoinCashAgain

Who gives a damn about developers? Can volunteer funding work?

This has been suggested by several "funders", who have put their money where their mouth is.

Coinholders know they can easily afford to donate 1% of their holding and will likely make a profit doing so in seeing value of their BCH go up more.—MarcDeMesel

A NEW Lighthouse?

The community has been talking about a NEW lighthouse since the IFP was announced:

Best laid plans of the OSS community thus far

Apparently the IFP is far from novel in the space of OSS and more specifically the world of crypto. There have been, and continue to be many innovative ideas working to solve the problem of developer funding:

  1. Open Collective

  2. Lemonade Stand

  3. Stable Funding for Open Source Developers

  4. SustainOSS

  5. Liberal Radicalism: A Flexible Design For Philanthropic Matching Funds

Fully Decentralized

Utilizing a combination of Bitcoin Files Protocol (BFP) and the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), we have developed a completed decentralized, 100% transparent system for public use.

After the scheduled May 15th hard-fork, BFP will be able to support approximately 10KiB files.

NOTE: If you require more than the 10KiB limit for any single piece of content, then an IPFS link can be provided to the FULL content, while BFP can be used for an abbreviated version.
We recommend Piñata, which offers up to 1GiB of FREE pinning.
