Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

Build Status

BuckleScript binding for Phoenix Channel/Presence to Phoenix's official JavaScript client.

This is usable now.

Feel free to create PRs.

To install

npm install -save bucklescript-phx

Please update your bsconfig.json to make bsb aware of this dependency

"bs-dependencies": [
    "bucklescript-phx"
  ]

Notice:

  1. Please add official Phoenix client as your dependency to make sure BuckleScript is able to require Phoenix's js.

  2. Meta of Presence and payload of incoming event are decalred as Js_json.t which means you need to decode it with your prefered decoder (in TEA it is very convenient with Json.Decoder.decodeValue).

  3. The bindings are based on https://github.com/DefinitelyTyped/DefinitelyTyped. There might be some error on mapping the types. Please help correct them if you find anything wrong. Thank you!

Here are the examples:

To join a channel:

open Phx

let handleReiceive event any =
  match event with
  | "ok" -> Js.log ("handleReiceive:" ^ event, "Joined")
  | "error" -> Js.log ("handleReiceive:" ^ event, "Failed to join channel")
  | _ -> Js.log ("handleReiceive:" ^ event, any)

let handleEvent event response =
  let _ = Js.log ("handleEvent:" ^ event, response) in
  ()

let handleSyncState response =
  let _ = Js.log ("handleSyncState", response) in
  (*let _ = Js.log (Array.iter (fun key -> Js.log (Js_dict.unsafeGet response key)) (Js_dict.keys response) ) in*)
  let _presences  =  Presence.syncState (Js.Dict.empty ()) response in
  ()

let handleSyncDiff diff =
  let _ = Js.log ("handleSyncDiff:diff", diff) in
  let presences  =  Presence.syncDiff (Js.Dict.empty ()) diff in
  let _ = Js.log ("handleSyncDiff:presences", presences) in
  ()

let _ =
  let socket = initSocket "/socket"
               |> connectSocket
               |> putOnClose (fun () -> Js.log "Socket closed") in
  let channel = socket
                |> initChannel "user:lobby" in
  let _ = channel
          |> putOn "from_server" (handleEvent "from:server")
          |> putOnSyncState handleSyncState
          |> putOnsyncDiff handleSyncDiff
          |> joinChannel
          |> putReceive "ok" (handleReiceive "ok")
          |> putReceive "error" (handleReiceive "error") in
  push "new:message" [%bs.obj { user = "Hello, Elixir! This is a greeting from BuckleScript!"} ] channel

  switch event {
  | "ok" => Js.log(("handleReiceive:" ++ event, "Joined"))
  | "error" => Js.log(("handleReiceive:" ++ event, "Failed to join channel"))
  | _ => Js.log(("handleReiceive:" ++ event, any))
  };

let handleEvent = (event, response) => {

  /*let _ = Js.log (Array.iter (fun key -> Js.log (Js_dict.unsafeGet response key)) (Js_dict.keys response) ) in*/
  let _presences = Presence.syncState(Js.Dict.empty(), response);

let handleSyncDiff = (diff) => {
  let _ = Js.log(("handleSyncDiff:diff", diff));
  let presences = Presence.syncDiff(Js.Dict.empty(), diff);
  let _ = Js.log(("handleSyncDiff:presences", presences));
