Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

BeatDownloader 1.1.3

This utility allows you to download all of the ranked custom levels that you don't currently have for Beat Saber.

Installation

npm i beat-downloader

Prerequisites

ModAssistant

If you haven't used this before, make sure to run ModAssistant.exe and click the "Install or Update" button in the bottom right.

On the Options page, make sure the "BeatSaver" option is checked on the "Enable OneClick Installs" dropdown. This actually didn't work for me at first and I needed to uncheck "BeatSaver" and check it again before they were working as expected. I would recommend doing this just to be on the safe side.

Also on the Options page, change the "Show OneClick Installer Window" from the default "Yes" to "Close" or "No". Otherwise you will be left at the end with many open windows of the OneClick Installer.

Current release: https://github.com/Assistant/ModAssistant/releases/download/v1.1.27/ModAssistant.exe

Usage

  • Want to use the default Beat Saber install directory (C:/Program Files (x86)/Steam/steamapps/common/Beat Saber/Beat Saber_Data/CustomLevels)?

    • npx beat-downloader
  • Prefer to provide your own? (Please include /Beat Saber_Data/CustomLevels)

    • npx beat-downloader "C:/Beat Saber/Beat Saber_Data/CustomLevels"
    • After providing the directory, you can call just npx beat-downloader. This will be saved until you pass a new directory or if there was an error finding the directory.

Everything below is now deprecated and no longer needed

BeatDownloader.bat

This can be used as-is if you have used ModAssistant before. BeatDownloader will use the same install directory as set in ModAssistant.

Xidel

This is used for JSON parsing and only needs to be copied into the same folder that BeatDownloader.bat will run in. There is no installation needed for it.

Current release: https://github.com/benibela/xidel/releases/download/Xidel_0.9.8/xidel-0.9.8.win32.zip

Downloading

With all that out of the way, just double-click BeatDownloader.bat and the command prompt window will display showing the current progress! You can close the command prompt window and continue later on as well.

Note: As of writing there are currently 689 ranked custom levels, so this will take a while to complete. Closing the command prompt window will stop the process from running, but this can be restarted at a later time skipping the custom levels that have already been downloaded.
