Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Backlog CLI Manager

This is a cli tool project created to manage tasks and backlogs on cli for developers who want quick access of all tasks while working on terminal itself.

backlog

Installation

npm install -g backlog-cli-manager 
  1. If it says backlog already exists, use --force flag
npm install -g backlog-cli-manager --force 
  1. In windows systems, set permission to access files by
Set-ExecutionPolicy RemoteSigned -Scope Process 
  1. Initialise the tool and use it from same directory later

Initialise with File system

backlog --init

Or Use Github (Check PreRequisite also)

backlog --init --setcredentials

PreRequisites:

  • Have a Github Account
  • Have a public RepoGenerate and
  • Copy a Personal access token with read/write/admin rights on repos.

IMP:

We do not take any credentials and everything is stored on your system only for all purpose use

Note: Using via Docker:

  1. Pull latest Image from DockerHub and Run the container. Use the container shell to interact with package.

Features:

  1. Add backlog with name, description, priority, deadline and in todo status by default

  2. Validation of Inputs with Errors

  3. BacklogID is autogenerated

  4. Import backlogs from other systems

backlog -a -n <name> -p <priority> -dl <deadline> -d <description> -t

addTask

Change status to working or completed

backlog -n <name> -w

or

backlog -n <name> -c

Get list of all backlogs

backlog -la

addTask

Get list by a priority, deadline or status

backlog -l -p <priority>

or

backlog -l -dl <deadline>

or

backlog -l -c/w/t

Remove a backlog

backlog -r <name>

Edit a backlog

backlog -e -n <name> -un <updatedName> -d <description> -dl <02-02-2024> -p <priority>

Import backlogs

backlog -imp -pth <path_to_file>
