click next to select the folder where the tool is installed. you can put it into program files in %programfiles% but you may want to put it in a better location, such as c:\program files\autodesk\robot\structural analysis 2013, this way you can copy the tool from a different location if something goes wrong.

at this point, its still not part of our release strategy to expose new capabilities, but we expect to release new analysis solvers and methods as part of our long-term technology roadmap. a starting point might be to analyze with broken beams, wind loads, and the ability to fully capture the effects of local and global effects (e.g., earthquakes). additionally, its worth noting that industry already struggles with using too many mesh outputs: we have an s&p for mesh interpenetration and voids, and a p&p for symmetries. we would like to reduce the number of mesh outputs so analysts can use more of the relevant outputs.
once the analysis & design module matures, we plan to pursue code-based solvers. we hope to have many important elements automated during the run-time build time, and minimize the need for engineers to program solutions into the solver. this will probably require some new programming languages, and enhancements to the existing languages. in order to keep the interoperability requirements for the solvers as simple as possible, we expect to use the programming languages provided by the well-established analysis workflows. this means that any language that can be scripted in python, c/c++, java, etc will likely be supported. additionally, we will continue to build our solver api to allow analysts to program any solution (as long as they specify the solvers input requirements) into their robot analysis project. 84d34552a1
