archaeo
Cold wind slices across your face as the great walls of Gran Icenia hove into view; this is where the young fortuneseeker wishes to find themself, and you are one of the lucky few who has actually made it. Your names are a reflection of your past: Salamis, named so for your father's Greek country of origin, and Ardaigne, a noble house of Lyons. All told, you are Leonora Salamis Ardaigne, novice archaeologist, and you're ready to strike out on your own adventure.
Archaeo is a single-player text RPG with a stat system inspired by table top roleplaying games. Move through the world of Gran Icenia to improve your skills, and mould yourself into a great hero, a criminal mastermind, a society elite, or anything else you can think of!
Upcoming Releases

For Nerds
Archaeo's core is built in Node.js with very few external dependencies. It is runnable from any command line that has Node installed. To run some of Archaeo's core:
- Clone this repository.
cd folder_of_many_things
git clone https://github.com/Front-Range-Foundry/archaeo.git
cd archaeo
- Run a development installation for the test suite if desired:
npm install --save-dev
- Run the tests (The tests are the best and most interactive way to interact with Archaeo until the alpha release is done)
npm test
For Extreme Nerds
- Archaeo's core strives to hit 100% code test coverage to ensure maximum stability and extensibility.
- Archaeo's core is ultimately designed with the intention that anyone might be able to use it as a library for Text RPG game creation. The Archaeo game is essentially a test of the core library's ability to do so.
