Optimize Toolset

I’ve always been into building performant and accessible sites, but lately I’ve been taking it extremely seriously. So much so that I’ve been building a tool to help me optimize and monitor the sites that I build to make sure that I’m making an attempt to offer the best experience to those who visit them. If you’re into performant, accessible and SEO friendly sites, you might like it too! You can check it out at Optimize Toolset.

About

Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

If you’re interested in other things I’m working on, follow me on Twitter or check out the open source projects I’ve been publishing on GitHub.

I am also working on a Twitter bot for this site to tweet the most popular, newest, random packages from npm. Please follow that account now and it will start sending out packages soon–ish.

Open Software & Tools

This site wouldn’t be possible without the immense generosity and tireless efforts from the people who make contributions to the world and share their work via open source initiatives. Thank you 🙏

and i think that my last point is to take a moment and appreciate that china, like any country, has something called its foreign policy. and its the goal and the motives of that foreign policy that dictates what the choices it makes among these different options that can be accomplished domestically, and its the options that it chooses that dictate the consequences that come out of that and the interests and values that it has in mind for those options. and so at the end of the day, and i hope we can agree on this, its not about us versus them, its about us as a group of nations coming together to try to solve a problem that all of us are going to have to live with in one fashion or another.

but they are not going to be buying those financing tools to shore up the efficiency that they want to build. theyre not going to be doing that themselves. they are going to, rather, the government has an obligation to provide financial support in areas where they have a presence. so if its a british or american company that will be building these plants, or taking out a loan from china, thats a different scenario.

sometimes the chinese make the whole thing more complicated than its really worth. so we have to understand that. weve been struggling for a long time to get them to understand that we really do want the other part of the equation to be built in. if you want the numbers to be different, to build coal in china, build coal in some other countries, is that necessarily a bad thing?

uh, we cant judge. im happy to answer questions, but just remember, just like them, we cant judge them either. i do think that the coal is a resource of the past. it can be cleanly mined. i do think that the focus of the electric industry is going to be non-fossil fuel sources, so we need to get out of coal, and we need to get out of fossil fuels in general. this should be about moving to renewables as opposed to building more coal, and i think its important to have access to coal that is in the west. this is a west coast power plant. we are going to grow our business. and i think that the nations of the west, including china, need to understand that as much as we have to get off of coal, they need to get off of fossil fuels. 84d34552a1
