Hi, 👋, I’m Ryan Hefner  and I built this site for me, and you! The goal of this site was to provide an easy way for me to check the stats on my npm packages, both for prioritizing issues and updates, and to give me a little kick in the pants to keep up on stuff.

As I was building it, I realized that I was actually using the tool to build the tool, and figured I might as well put this out there and hopefully others will find it to be a fast and useful way to search and browse npm packages as I have.

Collection

Convenient and dependency free wrapper for working with javascript arrays and objects. This package is heavily inspired by Laravel and collect.js.

Installation

npm install js-turanga/collection --save

Usage

Using collection by require

  • all The all method returns the underlying array represented by the collection
  • average The avg method returns the average value of a given key:
  • chunk The chunk method breaks the collection into multiple, smaller collections of a given size
  • collapse The collapse method collapses a collection of arrays into a single, flat collection
  • collect The collect method returns a new Collection instance with the items currently in the collection
  • combine The combine method combines the values of the collection, as keys, with the values of another array or collection
  • concat The concat method appends the given array or collection's values onto the end of another collection
  • contains The contains method determines whether the collection contains a given item
  • count The count method returns the total number of items in the collection

  • keyBy The keyBy method keys the collection by the given key. If multiple items have the same key, only the last will appear

  • shift The shift method removes and returns the first item from the collection
  • shuffle The shuffle method randomly shuffles the items in the collection
  • sliding The sliding method returns a new collection of chunks representing a "sliding window" view of the items
  • skip The skip method returns a new collection, with the given number of elements removed from the beginning
  • skipUntil The skipUntil method skips items from the collection until the given callback returns true and returns remaining

  • sort The sort method sorts the collection. The sorted collection keeps the original array keys

  • sortDesc This method will sort the collection in the opposite order as the sort method
  • sortKeys The sortKeys method sorts the collection by the keys of the underlying associative array
  • sortKeysDesc This method has the same signature as the sortKeys method, but will sort the collection in the opposite order.
  • splice The splice method removes and returns a slice of items starting at the specified index
  • split The split method breaks a collection into the given number of groups
  • sum The sum method returns the sum of all items in the collection
  • take The take method returns a new collection with the specified number of items
  • takeUntil The takeUntil method returns items in the collection until the given callback returns true
